Beaumont Chiropractors

Meet Dr. Bob Wilson, Beaumont Chiropractor

When I was growing up, we didn’t go to the doctor. Well, every now and then, if someone was deathly ill. But in the mountains of Virginia, there weren’t very many doctors. And we couldn’t have afforded their care anyway. Instead we depended on common sense, a few home remedies, and the wisdom of our own bodies to heal ourselves.

After I graduated from college and joined my fellow Americans in a tour of Vietnam, I decided I no longer wanted to follow in my father’s police office footsteps. I enrolled at Case Western Reserve and completed my first doctorate degree, in Podiatric Medicine. After 10 years of foot surgery, however, I knew something was missing. It wasn’t until an experience with my own daughter, however, that I fully realized the benefits of chiropractic care.

We adopted Kelly when she was a newborn. She came to us crying. Kelly had been born with "congenital torticollis", a fancy word for a crick in the neck. She held her head to the side, couldn’t move her left arm, and cried. Constantly. Her doctor said there was nothing we could do. Her nerves had been injured in childbirth and our only hope for a normal life for her was surgery – which couldn’t be performed until she was three years old! Kelly was only six weeks old and had not slept all night (neither had I!) when I finally took her to a chiropractor. She had her first adjustment, and she stopped crying – instantly!

So there I was, in my 40’s, going back to school! I graduated with my second doctorate, this one in Chiropractic, from Western States Chiropractic College. I moved to Beaumont in 1993, opened my own practice, and have been witnessing miracles ever since!

I’m remarried now – to a beautiful Beaumont woman who also happens to be my partner in practice! We live with my youngest daughter Molly, and our four-legged children Tio and Tigger. I just turned 69 years old, I get adjusted every week, and I don’t take a single prescription drug.

I know from my own personal experiences and the miracles I see in my office every day that there are alternatives to drugs and surgery. And that with proper care, our bodies will last a lifetime.

I welcome anyone who is interested to come in and talk to us. Meet our staff. Tour our office. Let us take a look and see if chiropractic many be able to help you. Your results, like mine, just might be life-changing!

Meet Dr. Jen Wilson, Beaumont Chiropractor

I was 22 years old before I discovered chiropractic!

I had suffered with headaches for several years, and medical doctors' attempts to get rid of them with pain pills hadn't worked. In fact, the medicines made me feel worse - and didn't relieve the headaches! I had all but decided I would just have to live with the pain.

It wasn't until I went to work for a chiropractor that I learned my headaches were likely caused by a car accident I'd had in high school. My chiropractor began adjusting me, and relief was almost instant! After a few weeks, my headaches had subsided completely. I knew I had found my calling!

I completed my undergraduate work at Lamar University in Beaumont and San Jacinto College in Pasadena. I chose to attend Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena. Since it was only an hour and a half from home, I drove every day for three and a half years (gas was much cheaper then!).

I remember how amazed I was when I first saw the spinal cord. Since I had worked in the chiropractic field for years by then, I had a good understanding of how the nervous system works. I'm not sure what I expected, but I remember sheer amazement when I realized the whole spinal cord is no larger in diameter than a #2 pencil! Our bodies are truly awesome!

As a doctor, my mission is to help others find true wellness. I love introducing people to chiropractic, and I especially love watching my patients transform from a "disease-based" health status to one of true wellness.

I'm married to my chiropractor and business partner, Dr. Bob. In our spare time, we enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with our 14-year-old daughter Molly. I also enjoy cooking and sewing, I love the beach, and I'm trying to learn to play tennis and golf with my daughter.

I still get adjusted at least once per week. I try to eat healthy, and I have a great personal trainer who keeps me in decent physical shape. I believe that great health is our birthright, and I am committed to doing all I can to maintain it – for myself and my patients.

Enough about me! How can we help you with today's safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Dr. Wilson Asks some important questions of interest to Beaumont residents - Chiropractor Beaumont Dr. Wilson Asks...

Will chiropractic adjustments make my spine too loose?
No. Only the spinal joints that are fixated and "locked up" receive attention. The occasional spinal joint that moves too much is passed over so weakened muscles and ligaments can strengthen and heal.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
